Target shooting is one of the most skillful activities offered by the ATC.
New cadets are initially trained on the No. 8 rifle and if they are profficient with this rifle they can move onto the L98 A2, our brand new weapon.
Cadets will only be allowed to fire these rifles after undergoing strict tests that prove he or she is capable of operating them safely.
There are many acheivements on offer to cadets when it comes to target shooting ranging from the following badges gained on different weapon systems:
Cadets who exceed this may be awarded the Cadet100 award which signifies that the cadet is one of the top 100 shots in the Air Training Corps, Army Cadet Organisation and Sea Cadet Corps.
