Drill is an essential part of cadet training and one of the first things they are taught.
Drill is a series of movements performed to the commands of a DI (Drill Instructor).
For many cadets doing drill for the first time can seem intimidating but they will soon receive lessons on how to execute drill movements properly and over time they improve and fine tune their technique.
Once a cadet has gotten their Drill to a good standard they may be picked for the drill squad that represents the squadron for competitions and performs to visitors.
Drill is also nescessary for public events such as parades where cadets will be part of the procession usually marching to the beat of a band.
