Corby Air Cadets have a Growth Spurt

On Saturday 10^th September 2016, 422 (Corby) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets opened up their doors to welcome the next potential recruits for Intake 02/16.

The potential cadets were given a guided tour of the Squadron with a helpful Q & A session from the current cadets of the Squadron.  They were interested to find out what the Air Cadets has to offer, from flying and gliding to the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, Fieldcraft Training and much more.

One parent said, “We didn’t know what to expect from today, but we’re very impressed.  We look forward to seeing our son grow in confidence from joining”.

After a successful days recruiting, staff and cadets welcomed the 45 new recruits to the Squadron on Monday and introduced them to their training team, where they had the opportunity to get to know each other and talk a little bit about themselves.

With this latest intake, 422 (Corby) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets are now 120 cadets strong.  The largest it has been in its history.

Flight Lieutenant Kev Ritchie RAFVR(T), Commanding Officer of 422 (Corby) Squadron said, “What a fantastic Open Day.  The cadet and staff team worked really hard showcasing what amazing opportunities the Air Cadets have to offer.  I welcome the new cadets to the Squadron and look forward to their careers ahead.”
