No Horsing Around for Corby Air Cadets

On 21st – 22nd May 2016, 422 (Corby) Squadron and 1101 (Kettering) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets joined forces to assist at the prestigious Rockingham International Horse Trials, where names such as Zara Anne Elizabeth Tindall MBE compete.

From covering crossing points and manning busy eventing arenas, the cadets were commended by many for their hard work over the two long days in the typical British weather.

The cadets also met Air Commodore JM Stevenson CBE (Ret’d), who started his career out as an Air Cadet some 75 years ago.  It was interesting to hear how things have changed over that time.

Everyone played their part from cadets to staff in making the weekend run, in either cooking or working the courses.  Efforts were so great that the Rockingham Estate have invited both Squadrons back next year.

If you’re aged between 12 (School Year 8) and 16 and are interested in becoming a Royal Air Force Air Cadet, 422 (Corby) Squadron are holding an Open Day on Saturday 10th September 2016 from 10am to 2pm at their Squadron Headquarters on St. Mark’s Road.
