Corby Air Cadets Band Together

On Sunday 17th April 2016, a group of cadets from 422 (Corby) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets attended the South and East Midlands Wing Band Competition at RAF Wittering.

After an early start, the band arrived at 8.30am ready for a busy day of rehearsals and competing.

Last year, the squadron entered only the Percussion Section and did very well. However, this year for the first time, they entered with the Percussion Section, a Solo Drummer and an Ensemble into the competition and did themselves and the rest of the squadron very proud.

Cpl Hannah Eden said “I’m ever so pleased with the results of the competition. We could have done better, but we know where to improve on next year and definitely know what changes need to be made.”

Sgt Emily Russell said “I’m really proud of everyone that attended and their conduct on the day. It was great to see how the effort we put in for months paid off.”

Overall, it was a great day, with cadets seeing friends from around the Wing and competing to a very high standard. Well done to all.
