Thursday 22nd October was a very special day for one Corby Air Cadet as she was officially appointed as the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet of Northamptonshire.
Cadet Sergeant Emma Beadsworth, 16, who was nominated by her Squadron and Wing for her outstanding bearing, professionalism and commitment to the Corps, attended an Investiture Ceremony at Northampton’s Town Hall along with the cadet representatives from the Army Cadet Force and the Sea Cadet Corps.

Emma was also joined by her family, Squadron Commander and Officer Commanding South and East Midlands Wing, Wing Commander Nigel Dickinson OBE.
Over the course of the next year, Sergeant Beadsworth will accompany the Lord Lieutenant of Northamptonshire, Mr David Laing, at various civic and special occasions such as Remembrance Sunday and Royal Visits.

Officer Commanding 422 (Corby) Squadron, Flight Lieutenant Kev Ritchie RAFVR(T) said, “The Squadron and I are extremely proud of Sgt Beadsworth. She always gives one hundred percent in everything she does and performs her duties with the utmost professionalism. I am confident she will continue this in her duties as a Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet and look forward to what the next year will bring for her”.
