A day on the water for Corby Air Cadets

On Sunday 26th July a team of Royal Air Force Air Cadets from 422 (Corby) Squadron, 1084 (Market Harborough) Squadron and 1101 (Kettering) Squadron attended a water activity day at the Rock UK Frontier Centre in Irthlingborough.

The day, organised by 422 (Corby) Squadron Adjutant, Pilot Officer Phil Ewers RAFVR(T), was aimed at providing the cadets with teambuilding and leadership based tasks, but most of all a little fun.

Before the cadets hit the water, the centre staff briefed the cadets on safety in the water and in and around the grounds.  They were then split into groups and kitted out for kayaking and raft building.

Throughout the day, Instructors from Rock UK took the groups through their paces in kayaking, testing their confidence and balance.  While the raft building group were tested on their leadership and construction skills.
