Corby Air Cadets join the Army Reserves for the Day

On Saturday 25th July, 422 (Corby) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets attended an Army Reserve Cadet Open Day organised by 118 Recovery Company REME.

The day at the Army Reserve Centre in Corby; where both 118 and 422 (Corby) Squadron are based, gave the cadets an opportunity to see what life is like in the Army and more specifically 118 Recovery Company REME.

Throughout the day cadets had the opportunity to recover vehicles using winches and support tows, move tyres from point to point using the cranes, look at military kit displays including CBRN kit, rations and sleeping systems and even had the opportunity to replace tyres on the Land Rovers.

Flight Lieutenant Kev Ritchie RAFVR(T) said, “I would like to thank Lt Steve Nixon and his team at 118 for organising the day here in Corby.  The cadets certainly had a great insight into what life is like at 118 Rec Coy and the Army Reserves as a whole.  We look forward to the next joint venture”.
