Run Corby! Run!

On Sunday 10th February seventeen cadets from 422 (Corby) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets braved the freezing cold temperature and rain to take part in South and East Midlands Wing’s Annual Cross Country event at RAFWittering.

Arriving early the cadets were keen to get off the coach and start warming up and compete against the 28 other Squadrons there on the day.

The course of 3.5 miles took many of the cadets by surprise as this would be the first time they had competed in this event. However, they approached the event with great determination (even supporting their neighbours 1101 (Kettering and District) Squadron along the way) and all teams that took part successfully completed the course.

Pilot Officer Kevin Ritchie RAFVR said “I am very proud of the effort, determination and camaraderie the Squadron displayed on the day despite the terrible weather. The Squadron and I were also thrilled to hear we had placed 13th overall; a huge improvement on last year’s result.”
