Welcome to 422 (Corby) Squadron

422 (Corby) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets

Next open day: 16/03/2024 1000-1400hrs

This site will provide useful information for anyone considering joining the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, in particular 422 (Corby) Squadron. Please feel free to browse the site, where you will find examples of the many activities and events we take part in.

It's very much a cliché that you only get out what you put in. This is very true within the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, with your child having the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities from flying to target shooting to overseas camps.

In addition the Royal Air Force Air Cadets can offer academic and practical qualifications ranging from BTECs to Duke of Edinburgh Awards to First Aid and many more.

The Royal Air Force Air Cadets will challenge and encourage the development of your son/daughter in many different ways including discipline; there will be difficult times and getting through them can be very rewarding.

The Royal Air Force Air Cadets is highly subsidised by the Royal Air Force and therefore many activities we offer such as flying, gliding, and shooting are all free of charge to our cadets.

The uniform our cadets wear is provided by the squadron and the RAF. The only pieces of uniform we cannot always guarantee to obtain are parade shoes, boots and combat jackets but can direct you to places where you can purchase these items relatively cheaply. The only contribution we ask from you is a £6 subscription each month which can be paid monthly, or if you prefer yearly, in advance, at cost of £50 for the year.

Finally,

We are always looking for additional staff to help out around the Squadron, if you think that you have a particular skill that would fit in to the Royal Air Force Air Cadets syllabus (check out the Resources and What We Do sections), please approach a member of staff to discuss further.
